Hi, I’m carly.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania, and I’m also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).

I began my training by obtaining my BA in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee. From there, I pursued a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, which provided me with the tools to support my clients with spiritual direction, regardless of religious backgrounds or spiritual preferences. I then completed an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Villanova University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and have stayed in the Philadelphia area ever since.

Throughout my academic pursuits, I made it a priority to engage in therapy for myself, in an effort to work on my own mental health as I prepared for the privilege of helping others with their mental health. Due to my own experiences of participating in therapy, I understand the importance of having a therapist that you feel safe connecting and being vulnerable with. This is why my primary therapeutic modality is person-centered with components of CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care.

While the majority of my therapeutic work thus far has involved substance use disorder treatment, I have made distinct efforts to work with my clients on exploring what lies beneath the addictive behaviors (e.g., trauma, anxiety, depression, loneliness) as a means of healing from past wounds and growing into a more hopeful future. I also have experience working with clients struggling with eating disorders, childhood trauma, intimate partner violence, anger management, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders (narcissistic, borderline, and antisocial), OCD, and relationship issues.

It takes great courage to ask for help, and I would consider it a privilege to work with you, listen to your story, and support you in becoming your very best self. If you have any questions, or want to have a brief conversation about what therapy could look like, please fill out this form.
